INITIAL EMAIL
Hi,
I can't believe I came across this post tonight! I just had an inkling to check on here and I can't believe you actually reached out to me. You're right, our conversation was not typical for a bar but I enjoyed it immensely. Maybe if we ever meet again, we can have riveting conversations about abortion and the death penalty and for desert come to an argument on a god. Seriously though, you are great, I would have loved to dance although I have only mastered the hokey pokey, put your left foot in and put your left foot in and leave it all alone! Oh wait...
I love homeless people. Yeah, guy friends, more like brothers we have been through the fiery pits of hell together and that is not a metaphor, Dec. 14th 2009 - Dec. 21st 2009. I wrote a diary documenting the event but it burst into flames. I'm usually too much woman for men if you know what I mean. On the surface they are all cool about it, but then the unwrap the packaging and want to return it. I've been hurt by many and I put up a very large wall (see China) so as long as you are aware of that and still want to talk, hit me back. I'm into space and aliens. I also love extensively gory horror movies, especially with decapitations.
Hope to hear from you soon!
FIRST RESPONSE
Hello and good morning!
I was very pleasantly surprised to hear from you last night and would have responded then, if not for a writing assignment I was rushing to complete. I am glad that you came across my virtual message in a bottle and chose to respond. You struck me as a woman of substance, someone I would, at a minimum, be interested in getting to know as a friend, and someone who shared my concerns and political views, which is very refreshing these days.
I certainly understand what it is to be hurt, and I also tend to find that I gravitate toward women who intimidate most men. Perhaps it is that I do not feel that I have much to prove at this point; perhaps it was being raised by a mother who was (and is) very strong-willed and opinionated. As for walls, as long as they are not the sort that Donald Trump wants to build on our southern border, I'm fine with that!
I am curious to know more about what happened in December of 2009, but I don't want to press you on that. I also am intrigued by your taste in movies. For obvious reasons, the visuals in horror movies do not appeal to me, but I do like reading fairly violent and graphic horror fiction, although I also need to see some character development and something resembling a plot to maintain my interest.
I can't remember if I already told you this or not, but I do want you to know that I am married. I'm happy to share more later, but suffice it to say for now that, though my wife is truly a good and warm-hearted person, the affection tends to flow in one direction in our relationship. IN part, this is because she is under a lot of stress; her mother is in very poor health, including early onset dementia, so her emotional commitment is to that situation right now. I suppose this is all a lead-in to saying that I am very open to being friends, however defined, and to whatever naturally and comfortably flows from that. I am, however, able to be traditional boyfriend material. I am, of course, totally fine with simply hanging out, having a drink, and having good conversations as well. I hope that you are still interested in talking further, and if so, I'd love to find a time to hang out, either at Halftime or somewhere else in the area.
Take care, and so good to hear from you,
James
SECOND RESPONSE
I hope you had a great day. I also hope that my response of this morning didn't come across as too forward. In rereading it, I noticed a major mistake; I meant to say that I would be unable, not able, to be a boyfriend in the traditional sense. I guess that's what I get for writing a message before I'm fully awake. I also did not emphasize strongly enough that I am totally open to being normal friends--just getting together for drinks and conversation on occasion. Unlike some guys, I am capable of being friends with a woman to whom I am attracted without being weird about it. In any event, I would love to chat further and perhaps get together at Halftime again in the not too distant future.
Take Care,
James
THIRD RESPONSE....
Hello,
I hope that you're enjoying the beautiful spring weather! I did not hear back from you, so I hope that all is well. In any event, I am considering going to Halftime this evening, so perhaps I will see you there?
Take care,
James
